Portofol as a desktop program.

Installs like any other program: download, open, drag to Applications or click Next. Opens in its own window, with an icon in the Dock or Start.

On Mac, if "Portofol Not Opened" shows the first time: click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. Then it opens normally. On Windows, if "Windows protected your PC" shows: More info → Run anyway.

What you need

Three things you usually have.

A device with a browser

A tablet (Android or iPad), a phone or a computer (Windows, Mac). Even the old tablet at home is enough for the till; the kitchen can take a second tablet for the orders screen.

Internet

Wi-Fi or mobile data. When it drops, sales go on and the receipts fiscalise themselves as soon as the connection returns, within the 48 hours the law allows.

An 80 mm thermal printer

Any ordinary thermal printer, USB, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. No fiscal cash register is needed. Tested by us:

  • 58 mm printers for salons

Printing goes through the browser's dialog: pick the printer, 80 mm paper, no margins. No special driver, no extra program. The receipt comes out in the format of ATK's technical specification.

About installation.

Is there an app on the Play Store or App Store?

Portofol is installed from the browser as an app (PWA), with no store: that way it updates itself and works the same on Android, iPhone, Windows and Mac. There is nothing to download.

How do updates come?

By themselves, in the background. Open the app and you have the latest version; legal changes (rates, forms, deadlines) take effect without you doing anything.

Can I have the same till on two devices?

Yes, at the same point of sale: e.g. the tablet at the counter and the owner's phone. Two counters with two printers are two tills (SEF), each registered with ATK.

Does my old printer work?

If it prints from a computer or phone as an ordinary printer, yes. Printers of old fiscal cash registers (with fiscal memory) usually do not work as a plain printer.

What is needed to register the till with ATK?

The business number and the fiscalisation number from EDI (Fiscalisation → Request for fiscalisation). You enter them under Settings → Fiscalisation and the app does the registration. More at PortoSEF →
